Going under.
In March 2018, under opened the doors to a completely new way of experiencing food. “A restaurant five and a half meters below the surface in Norway, exposing you to the wonders beneath the sea” is how under welcomes you on their website. The innovative architecture is by award-winning Snøhetta and together with the entrepreneurs, carpenters, farms and local resources, the Ubostad Family has created a remarkable experience, a little outside of time, under the surface of the ocean on the coast of southern Norway. Fortunately they decided to go for a local band working with the soundscape for Under.
With us on the project back in 2018, we worked with the super talented Peter Baden, both as a composer and co-producer.
Entering the a new year and seasonal menue, the collaboration Under+Myrull has furthermore resulted in an approximately 6 hour composition that welcomes the audience when they enter the restaurant. It is set as the soundscape throughout the evening and along with the beautifully composed dishes, buzzing life in the ocean, the architecture and interior, it brings it all together in an underwater theatrical experience.
This time around, we proudly introduce Simen Løvgren as co-producer, technician and musician. His electronic landscapes, musicality and craftsmanship made this composition into a perfect fusion with the organic Myrull sound.
The music will be available on both LP and digital platform. We are currently in the start-up phase of the project and we can’t wait to tell you more! Stay tuned on our Instagram and Facebook profiles!
A big thank you to under for letting us use their beautiful footage.

“Strong Chemistry has been the foundation of the collaboration Under+Myrull. They immediately understood us and the project. They have interpreted our vision in a wonderful artistic way. With Compassion, passion and curiosity and understanding for the local history and nature.”
“Our custom composed music by Myrull is an important part of the complete under-experience. Their music has been a part of our concept from the very beginning and is helping us appear as visioned.”
